3D Printed Stool

Recreating Alvar Aalto’s iconic Artek 60 stool by incorporating modern techniques. Traditional steam bending was replaced with 3D printing using PETG to achieve the stool’s signature curved leg, demonstrating the material’s strength and versatility. Inspired by the discontinued IKEA Frosta stool, a well-known reinterpretation of Aalto’s design, the project explores how 3D printing can make classic designs more accessible. It serves as an example of blending traditional design with contemporary manufacturing methods.
